Designed by prominent architect Leonard Thomas (of Thomas Brothers Map fame) in 1917, this heavy brick and timber building is emblematic of early 20th century industrial buildings of that era. Thomas was at the forefront of mixing elements to beautify traditional utilitarian architecture with arched windows, patterned brick, & deep corbeled cornices. Used as The American Bag Company and Union Hide Co. from 1917 through the late 1980’s (known for making, mending and guaranteeing burlap bags), the building was purchased by the current owner and completely renovated 1994-1999 before joining the National Register of Historic Places.

The building consists of 3 stories currently demised into four separately metered offices with the second and third floors being single-tenant full floors.

The first floor (street level) consists of two nattily finished commercial spaces each with custom built-out offices and private restrooms. One is occupied by a chiropractor and the other is vacant.

The second floor is a stunning single-tenant office space currently leased to a law firm (will be vacated 8/31/2024). It has an open central area large enough for events and currently housing a billiard table and lounge. It is surrounded by glass enclosed offices, a kitchen and 2 half bathrooms.
